The Tate Gallery site includes a disused late 19th Century R.A.M.C. hospital.
The three storied lodge was originally an officer's residence and
subsequently has been used by the Gallery for offices.
Commissioned by Peter Palumbo, the Chairman of the Tate Gallery Foundation,
we undertook the conversion of the ground floor to offices for the
Foundation. This was completed in three months from receipt of brief to
handover.
Accommodation includes Director's offices, conference room, Trustee's
dining room, kitchen and small gallery.
Finishes consist of plastered wall and ceiling linings, articulated by a
recessed picture hanging system, and floor finishes include white ceramic
tile and hardwood strip. All windows are double glazed and fitted with
venetian blinds. Lighting generally is low voltage fittings, augmented with
task lighting.
